I'm writing a paper about why people undertake high-risk sports in relation to controlled risk taking/sensation seeking. What are some psychological (medical, official, etc) terms that could be applied? Or any ideas in general? Thanks.Controlled risk taking/sensation seeking?
I've heard talk of things like type1, and type 2 personalities as applied to risk taking. i was a paratrooper in the service. i didn't think about it either way, to me it was just a cool rush.Controlled risk taking/sensation seeking?
Many people who participate in high risk activities have not yet come to terms with their own mortality OR reject conventional wisdom ( in other words, they do not internalize the fears of others)
I would guess that some of these people have a hidden death wish, feel invincible or just enjoy marching to a different drum.
