I have PCOS, and my doctor has had me on birth control for as long as I remember for irregular periods (periods lasting 3-4 months at a time). What are the risks of being on birth control for such a long time? She said that everything is working fine, and she doesn't plan on taking me off them until I am at least 18 years old. I am 16 now.Risks of taking birth control for a long period of time?
I've heard that it can make it more difficult to get pregnant. It will take a while for your body to get back in the habit of ovulating. But with PCOS, I'm not sure how much different it will be.
