Does birth control greatly increase risks?

Does bc greatly increase cancer, or stroke, etc? I'm thinking about starting it again after 3 yrs.Does birth control greatly increase risks?
they say it increases the risk of blood clot, stroke, heart attack etc...especially in women over 35 and those who smoke. i am on birth control and i think it is worth the risk to not get pregnant i used to smoke...i didn't/don't even think twice about it. remember...even if it just happened to one person they still have to put it on the side effect/risks label. perhaps look into the occurace of these things, but i would bet they are rare.Does birth control greatly increase risks?
it incresase the risk of blood clots ESPCIALLY if u smoke. if u smoke i woudlnt even go on it. i think it might increase a risk of ectopic pregnancy too
yes it does run some potential risk especially if you are prone to vericose veins and blood clotting. I had to get of b.c. because my legs were very achey and come to find out I had vericose veins and the b.c. had worsened them. So be careful and pay attention to your body.
Yes, it does have risks. That is why I went off the pill. I am now on Mirena, it is a great form of birth control, and it puts out a very low dose of hormone. The risks with it are lower than a lot of the other birth controls out there. That is why my doctor suggested it. Hope this helps in your decision.
Alot depends on your age, if you smoke or not and the strength of the pill. I took Yaz for less than 2 months %26amp; ended up with Deep Vein Thrombosis. Just make sure before you start any b/c to talk with your doctor %26amp; let him/her explain the risks.
