Here's a bunch of good info on Factor V Leiden and birth control:

A non-hormonal method sounds to be the safest. Maybe try a diaphragm? Or, try a progestin-only contraceptive (no estrogen)... they make progestin-only pills, but I'm pretty sure those aren't as effective as the regular pill. Also, Depo-Provera is progestin-only.I have factor 5 laden gene, how can i get good birth control without high risks of a blood clot?
you shouldn't use birth control with estrogen - most kinds of pills, nuva ring and the patch.

progesterone-only methods are an option - mini-pill, depo, mirena iud, implanon.

The paragard iud doesn't have any hormones in it.
why not use condom

got to your doctor
