We want to be safe, and we're wondering if it's safe to have sex, even risking condom breakage, if she starts her period in a few days and on that day she starts birth control.How safe would it be to have sex w/ a condom and risk breakage before the period she's to start birth control?
If you start birth control the first day of your period, you are protected immediately. Sex with a condom is pretty safe. A lot of people use that as their sole form of birth control. Be sure you put it on correctly to help prevent it from breaking. Used correctly, condoms are about 97% effective. You guys should be fine.
