Will going on birth control increase the risk of not being able to have children?

Nope. This is a myth. It sometimes take a little bit of time for your hormones to return to normal. I read a study that said that 57% of women were ovulatory on the first period after birth control. If you are planning to get pregnant, come off of BC and give your body a few months. It should be back to normal after 3 - in some cases it can be a little longer, but 3 is generally the norm. Will going on birth control increase the risk of not being able to have children?
I have a friend who fell pregnant the first month she came off the pill.

It has not bee proven the birth control causes infertility however I know several people that believe that after being on birth control for many years (10+ years) it has caused them fertility issues. Its not fact but makes me a little concerned.
nope thats a myth
birthcontrol can help regulate your period, but not help with increasing fertility.
No. Getting older or getting untreated uterine infections and/or STDs reduces the risk of not being able to have children.

The possible exception is the Depo shot. My doc will not give the depo shot to women who do not already have children because of inconsistent reports of increased secondary infertility. While large studies have not shown a problem, they've seen it at the clinic.
although it may not be scientifically ';proven'; because they don't do proper testing I would go with a yes on that one...but not just infertility is at risk.....also your metabolizm can get very screwed up making it hard to maintain a healthy weight....natural is always better than man's drugs......but you have to really know what you are doing....but its definatly not beyond any women to practice the fertility awarness method taught in Toni Weschler's book ';taking charge of your fertility';...I have been using the method for about 3 years...first to get pregnant then to prevent it for 2 years...now Im using it to concieve again......like I said....you have to know how to use it before just jumping in but its WELL worth it!
