Sex with just a condom...no birth control...risk?

I cannot take birth control.

If me and my boyfriend have sex (with a condom) what are the chances that it might break/i might get pregnant?Sex with just a condom...no birth control...risk?
small, but present.

if the condom is unexpired, stored at room temperature, wet in the package, and is used in a well-lubricated body, it will unlikely tear.

if you are worried about pregnancy, maybe you could figure out when you ovulate and pull out (with a condom on) during the high-risk days.

and a man does NOT always know when the condom breaks. do not trust that poster who said the man always can feel it.Sex with just a condom...no birth control...risk?
Most condoms do not break if they are used properly and not expired. The other thing is to make sure that there is enough lubrication. However, other then abstinence there is no other 100% guarantees. The risk with condoms is very small but make sure that it is put on correctly and the right size ( i.e. regular, XL, magnum). If it breaks you can get the morning-after pill from your gyno or planned parenthood just to be sure that you will not get pregnant. The morning-after pill should not be taken on a regular basis though so make sure you are being as safe as possible. I hope this helps... Good Luck!
A man knows immediately if a condom breaks, the question is would he stop and get another on .
Condoms are only 88% effective, even without a rip or break.
Theres a slim chance but be careful all the same
Okay, here's what you can do.

If you have a problem/medical issue with taking The Pill, you should use a ';back-up layer'; of birth control.

In addition to using the condoms, try using the Today Sponge (available in your local drugstore for about $7) as a back-up. Encare is another good alternative. Both contain Nonoxynol 9 (which kills sperm on contact) and are applied vaginally.

Every smart woman knows that using condoms alone just isn't enough. Condoms can break, and for that reason, they are just 98% effective.

And another thing, ';pulling out'; is not only ridiculous but an ineffective birth control or back-up method.

Trot on over to the drugstore today and get yourself 100% protected. :)

Good luck and I wish you well!
