but ive also heard about all these problems after takin birth control for awhile. i just wanna know if their are risks and if so what are they? What are the risk of birth control?
Any kind of hormonal birth control increases the risks of developing blood clots, which can kill you. If you are young, at a healthy weight, don't smoke, and don't have any close family members that have a history of clots, heart attack, and stroke, you should be fine. I've had the depo shot several times before, and I have now been on the pill for the past year and a half, and I couldn't do without it. Condoms suck, and my period is very light. What are the risk of birth control?
Yeah there are risks! You risk just normal, everyday birth control side effects like weight gain, acne, hairloss, breast size increase/decrease, headaches, irregular periods, unwanted facial hair, depression, anxiety, mood swings, and loss of sex drive to name a few. Not that these happen to all women, but at least one of them would likely happen to everyone. I've had enough side effects that I swore off hormones forever. Anyway, there are also serious risks that are rare like blood clot, heart attack and stroke. These happen more commonly in older women who smoke, but have also been known to happen to young, healthy women with no family history of these things.
Hon, it depends truly on which birth control pill you choose. There are so many out on the market that it would literally take all day to list those pills and their possible side effects. A better thing to do is to look through information on your own and then take that information with you to discuss with your gynecologist. You can find information on birth control pills through this website: http://www.healthywomen.org/healthtopics鈥?/a>
Hope this helps...Good luck!
some women gain weight with them.
